The analysis is based on market information representing approximately 50% of the UK’s unadvertised headhunter vacancies, which was collated by InterExec, which specialises in promoting senior executives and works with UK and international headhunters.

Kit Scott Brown, chief executive of InterExec, commented: “The demand for senior executives across almost all sectors is increasing with IT and Management Consultants being most highly sought. However, whilst the demand for senior executives is increasing, the fact that almost a third of headhunters have quit the industry over the last couple of years means that many senior executives may be left unaware of the employment opportunities, which is why an increasing number are looking to employ their own ‘agent’ to manage their prospects.”
